Actress Priyanka Upendra is set to do films again. The actress, who settled down for good in Bangalore after marrying superstar Upendra, will be seen playing Diganth’s teacher in director Yogaraj Bhat’s forthcoming movie, Pancharangi. The director decided to cast Priyanka for the role after he saw that she could carry off the character of a teacher with grace and poise.

It’s a real surprise that media channels seem to have rather ignored the wedding of South Indian actress Sindhu Menon, which was held last Saturday in Bangalore. Hailing from Kerala, the actress made her debut in the Tamil film industry with Bharathiraja’s ‘Kadal Pookal’ and shared screen space with Murali in K.S. Ravikumar’s ‘Samudram’. Off late, the actress became busy with other regional film offers including Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The Bheeshmar director, Ranjith is all set to return to direction after a long gap with his upcoming flick Uyarnthavan.. Rajnith who has also tried his hand at acting earlier will be playing the lead in Uyarnthavan as well while the female lead is played by Anglo Indian actress Caroline. The movie also includes Yuvarani, Illavarasu, Vinod, Vadivukarasi, Balu Anand and Lakshmanan as the rest of the cast and is a remake of the Malayalam movie Sallapam. The movie is mostly aiming for a May release.

Tamil superstar Vikram who makes his debut in Hindi with Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is a traumatized man. While in the Hindi version of Raavan he plays Aishwarya Rai’s cop-husband Dev in the Tamil version he plays the brutal outlaw Veera and that too with both the versions being shot simultaneously. Vikram was constantly running in and out of the two completely different characters makeup and languages, sometimes within half an hour.

Shooting of a multi-starrer film, ‘Vedam’ in the combination of Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj and Anuskha, directed by Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna @ Krish of ‘Gamyam’-fame and produced by Prasad Devineni and Shobu Yarlagadda on the banner of Arka Media Works, was completed recently.

South Indian actress Rambha will be marrying Indhiran Padmanathan, a Canada-based businessman on April 8 at Tirupathi. The wedding will be attended only by family members while Rambha’s colleagues are invited to the reception party, which will be in Chennai on April 11. Rambha’s engagement had taken place at Hotel Park Sheraton in Chennai on January 27.
